Hello friends of the road,
I hope you enjoyed the warm weather the past couple days. I know you’re not excited about the snow this weekend, but trust me, it won’t last. The mud season will continue after a short intermission.

I hope everyone has received their membership packets by now. The USPS can be slow at times, but they should have all reached you by now. If anyone has any feedback, it is always welcome. Just reply to this message with any comments you may have.

Details confirmed at the moment are: it will be on Saturday the 27th, with pickups in Rutland at 8:00 AM, in Middlebury about 9:00 AM, and it will be by Premier Motor Coach. Exact locations to be determined. The estimated time from Rutland to Chambly is 3 1⁄2 hours. One-way distance is about 150 miles. Cost per person is yet to be determined. All the finalized details will be sent out via email and be posted on the CPRA website. Passport or enhanced driver’s license is required to cross the border. For information about getting an enhanced driver’s license, go here: http://dmv.vermont.gov/sites/dmv/ files/pdf/DMV-VL011-EDL_Application.pdf or visit your local DMV office. Also, I’d like to share information about a local fundraiser to be held in Springfield. Normally I wouldn’t send news to you all that isn’t truly history related, but it is at a local institution with a close connection to our road, has close proximity to one of our markers, and after a long winter, perhaps it is a good opportunity to reunite with a few friends. The official name of the event is: “Pasta for Parkinson!”. Restaurant #56 in Springfield, Vermont is having another of their fundraisers for Parkinson Disease on Sunday, April 12 between 12N and 6:00pm. The dinner is $10 per person and includes Pasta, Salad, Rolls and Dessert. This is a really nice family owned restaurant with super good food. You can purchase tickets ahead or buy at the door. If enough people are interested, perhaps the restaurant can set up tables for us. Noon is usually a busy time, but 1pm might be good. Everyone is welcome to give Judith Koester a call at 603-542-0265 for further information.
