Hello All,
For those who are in Vermont, isn’t the foliage exploding in beauty? I wondered if we would get this much color with all the dry weather in September, but it appears we are very fortunate. It is a good time to get out for a hike, or just a nice walk on a country road. It doesn’t even have to be the Crown Point Road!
I’m all prepped for the upcoming meeting. I’ve gathered lots of statistics to wow all those in attendance. We will have a good guest speaker and surely will be a good time. Here is the official write-up for the big annual event:
October 18, 1:00 pm – On Sunday the 18th, the CPRA annual meeting and potluck dinner will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Springfield located at 21 Fairground Road. After general discussion, the guest speaker will be Jess Robinson, Vermont State Archeologist. His presentation will be Documentation and Perspective During Periods of Occupation in the Champlain Valley. Given the relationship between the track of the Crown Point Military Road and ancient Native American trails, this should be of interest to our group. Bring your place setting and a dish to share. The public is welcome to the meeting and/or the lecture. For more information, call Jim Rowe at (802)434-7415

As much as I’d like to end this email on a good note, I have some unfortunate news. Our friend Bill Allen passed away on October 3rd. His daughter Courtney Allen delivered a note and a box of CPRA material to Elaine Purdy. I’m sorry for those who knew Bill.
