Hello Friends of the Road,
Yes, you read that right! I have info regarding a December outing. We’ll consider this a BONUS event for 2015. Our good friend Barry Griffith wrote me today to remind me of event. I’ll say “remind” because I’m sure I must have known, and eventually forgot about it. Officially it will be an outing for the local Killington section of the Green Mountain Club. But I thought this would be relevant and interesting to you all. I’m guessing a few of you have left the area for a warmer environment, and I too am considering hibernating, but for those interested, here are the official details:
(and happy holidays everyone!)
Dale — I am writing to confirm that I am scheduled to lead a hike around Mt. Independence on Saturday, December 5. This will be listed on the upcoming outing schedule of the Killington Section of the Green Mountain Club. All are welcome. There is no fee. Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, bring water and lunch. Folks can meet at 9 AM and carpool from Rutland’s Main Street Park (between Washington and Center, just south of the Fire Station). For others it may be easier to just meet this group when it arrives circa 10 AM at the Mt. I visitors center parking lot. If you care to, please pass on this information to fellow members of the Crown Point Road Association and Friends of the Hubbardton Military Road — or any others you think might be interested. Thanks.
