Hello Friends of the Road,
I don’t know how you all feel, but I am no longer complaining about how wet this summer has been. The folks in Texas (and Louisiana) have it so bad right now. I hope none of you are affected.
In local news, have any of you read the new book about Mount Independence in Orwell? It is called Strong Ground. I have now finished reading it and I would highly recommend it. My day job is not as a book reviewer and I have no reputation as a book reviewer, so take my opinion with a grain of pepper. You may like the taste of the pepper, or you may sneeze at it later.
This coming Saturday is the last outing for 2017. We still have the annual meeting, but as for field activity, this is the last one. A local legend will be hosting the hike too. You may know him as the former CPRA treasurer. He has finished his prison sentence for embezzlement (just kidding!) and is eager to lead the exploration. I plan on being there too. Let’s hope for good weather!
