Hello Friends of the Road,
How is everyone doing? Well I hope. This morning it really felt like Autumn in VT. I had an early frost here. It sure put a dagger in some of my vegetable plants. But the mood changed later in the day as the sun warmed everything up and I found myself out mowing the grass. I’m one of those ’sick puppies” that enjoy mowing. It is definitely the time of year to enjoy the good weather when we have it, for the season is changing for sure.
I’m not sure how many of you are planning to attend the walking tour at the Hubbardton Battlefield on the 27th, but if you are, you now have an open date on your calendar. Unfortunately it has been canceled for this year. But that doesn’t mean you can’t visit the battlefield if you want to. It truly is a treasure we all have access to.
I have a challenge for you. If you find yourself a copy of the Rutland Magazine, there is an article in it that mentions the Crown Point Road! If you find the article, be sure to let me know you found it. Yes, the CPR is still relevant and part of main stream media! If you haven’t read the publication, it is an excellent one. It comes out 4 times a year. Unfortunately, it is only available in the Rutland County area.
Stay tuned for updates regarding the upcoming Annual Meeting. It is still a go, likely without food, masks required, and possibly reservations required. More to come soon….
Stay well, and keep history alive!
