Hubbardton Battlefield State Historic Site
Located on a grassy hill between the Taconic Mountains and the Champlain Valley, this is the site of the only Revolutionary War battle fought entirely in Vermont. The rear guard action fought here has been called “the beginning of the end” for British General John Burgoyne and his company’s great plan.
Mount Independence State Historic Site
Located on the Vermont shoreline of Lake Champlain, this site is a designated National Historic Landmark which has been called one of the most important historic sites in the State of Vermont. In 1776, the military complex at Mount Independence was one of the largest communities in North America.
